I was perusing Instagram the way I normally do, and I stumbled on a photo of a girl. I wish I took a screenshot of it, but I can’t find it anymore. The picture was a before and after of a girl’s face. Her skin used to be pimply, and now it was clear.
The difference was huge!
The girl in the picture credited her clear skin to Giulietta Durante of Hormones In Harmony (IG: @hormones_in_harmony). Giulietta Durante is a Nutritional Therapist and Health Coach AND a Hormones Whisperer living in London, England.
I was intrigued, and felt like I needed to talk to this awesome person. I know how important hormonal balance is for everything in life, from energy levels, mood, to clear skin and I wanted to learn more.
I reached out to Giulietta Durante, and she agreed to sit down for an interview.

I hope you found this super insightful and interesting. The takeaway is that we have total control over how we look and feel, so it’s time to take our health into our own hands.
But it’s important to note that hormones are fickle, and it doesn’t make sense to play with them unless you know exactly where they are at (with a functional comprehensive hormones test) and unless you know exactly how to tweak them. Don’t guess, I beg you.
I learned the hard way how badly I can eff up my hormones after my experiment taking two capsules of Vitex to ‘balance my hormones’. I unknowingly amped up my progesterone causing early and INTENSE PMS symptoms. I was zombie tired (could hardly function), had migraines, and experienced a painful cystic outbreak on my forehead, nose, and cheek. I don’t want a repeat of that experience…and I don’t want YOU to go through that.
My conversation with Giulietta inspired me to go see a Naturopath to really understand my body.
My Naturopath ordered a test for food sensitivities (blood test) and a DUTCH test (Dried Urine test for Comprehensive Hormones). Conventional hormone tests ordered by your regular healthcare practitioner show you a snapshot of your hormones at one given instant, but this isn’t very useful since hormones fluctuate greatly throughout the day. The DUTCH test not only shows you what’s going on with your hormones, but your cortisol profile too, and your hormonal metabolites throughout the whole day.
I’m excited to get the results!
